The Galapagos

Considered by many to be the ultimate destination for serious divers, the Galapagos are home to any incredible range of aquatic life — some of it on the decidedly large size. Divers can experience everything from sea lions to huge rays and hammerhead sharks. The ultimate Galapagos encounter is with giant whale sharks, which can grow over 50 feet long.

  • The link immediately to the right will open a separate window in which a four-and-a-half-minute QuickTime movie will automatically play.
  • To see this movie, you will need to have Apple’s QuickTime plug-in installed, which you can download free of charge.
  • The movie is 15 megabytes in size, so a high-speed connection is pretty much essential.

Dugout or Panga?

Whale Shark

Judy Wagner was one of the people who accompanied us to the Galapagos this past summer. She was kind enough to write a short article describing her trip. Here are some of the things she saw.

Eric Ault’s Trip Report

Galapagos

Eric Ault published a detailed report on his Galapagos experiences in his dive club’s newsletter. He was kind enough to share it with us as well.
