PADI Digital Underwater
Photography Course

Digital Photography

If you think the digital era has revolutionized photography out of the water, wait until you discover what it has done for underwater imaging.

  • No longer do you need costly underwater cameras, expensive strobes or pricey lenses to capture breathtaking underwater images.
  • There is no more buying film, paying for processing — or having to wait until you get home from vacation to discover how your pictures came out.
  • You don’t need to master complicated concepts such as f-stops, shutter speed, aperture and guide numbers.
Soft Coral

All you need is an inexpensive, point-and-shoot digital camera and housing (which we provide for class, if need be) — and PADI’s brand-new Digital Underwater Photography course.

This course is unlike any other. To start, it’s divided into two parts.

Chasm
  • Part I involves a limited amount of self-study, a short classroom session and a pool dive — all designed to get you taking memorable photos just as quickly as possible.
  • Part II involves an additional classroom session and two open-water training dives. It’s perfect for divers who want to make certain they get the absolute most from their investment in underwater photo equipment. You can complete the required dives locally, or on one of our Cozumel or other group trips.

You can take just Part I and get a special PADI Digital Underwater Photographer card, or sign up for Parts I and II and get your full PADI Digital Underwater Photography Specialty Diver certification (the latter counts toward your Master Scuba Diver rating).

Photo Book

Interested in digital underwater photography, but not yet certain you want to take the course? No problem. We sell the PADI Digital Underwater Photography manual and white balance slate separate from the course. Read the book now to get started (it’s among the best — and easiest to understand — books on underwater imaging we’ve ever seen). Then, when you are ready, sign up for the Digital Underwater Photographer course.

We will be offering Parts I and II throughout the year. This is guaranteed to be a popular course, but space is limited. Don’t miss out. Sign up now.
