Don't Dive Alone!<\/h3>\n<p>Diving in the same ocean does not count as diving with a buddy! Unless you are technically trained on solo diving, do everyone a favor and get a buddy! AND stick with them throughout the entire dive. If you do not have a specified buddy and an emergency arises, the likely hood of a successful rescue is slim.<\/p>\n<h3><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><!-- .clear (end) --><\/h3>\n<h3>2. \u00a0Don't Skip Your Buddy Check!<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/440px-Buddy-Check.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1011\" src=\"https:\/\/www.underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/440px-Buddy-Check-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>No matter how seasoned of a diver, do your loved ones a favor and do a buddy check on EVERY. SINGLE. DIVE. This is where you will catch any gear malfunctions BEFORE you enter the water. It could save your life. It takes less than a minute so grab your buddy and do one right before jumping in the water. If you've never been taught one before, here's an easy acronym to remember:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">B<\/span>egin <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">W<\/span>ith <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">R<\/span>eview <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A<\/span>nd <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">F<\/span>riend:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>B<\/strong>\u00a0- Buoyancy (check that your BCD holds air and inflator works)<\/li>\n<li><strong>W<\/strong>\u00a0- Weights (do you have your weights?)<\/li>\n<li><strong>R<\/strong>\u00a0- Releases (know where yours and your buddy's quick releases are and how they work)<\/li>\n<li><strong>A<\/strong> - Air (is your air on and is it full?)<\/li>\n<li><strong>F<\/strong> - Final Ok (do you have your mask, snorkel &amp; fins?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3. \u00a0Have An Emergency Assistance Plan on EVERY Dive.<\/h3>\n<p>Your Emergency Assistance Plan does not have to be super complicated and detailed at all times, but you should have one every time you go diving. \u00a0It can be as easy as knowing where the Emergency Oxygen and First Aid kits are and who to call for emergency assistance. \u00a0If you don't bring these things, however, it is very hard to use them in the case of an emergency. \u00a0Therefore, bring your O2 Kit and First Aid Kit, or make sure the dive operator has one on\u00a0every dive!<\/p>\n<h3>4. \u00a0Don't Dive With A Cold!<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/girl-at-beach-drinking.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-577\" src=\"https:\/\/www.underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/girl-at-beach-drinking-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Yes, you may have been planning this dive for months and don't want to miss out, but\u00a0no dive is worth compromising your safety. \u00a0If you are congested <em>please<\/em>\u00a0DO NOT DIVE!
