(@underseasscubacenter)<\/a> on <time style=\" font-family:Arial,sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:17px;\" datetime=\"2015-01-06T18:07:51+00:00\">Jan 6, 2015 at 10:07am PST<\/time><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async defer src=\"\/\/platform.instagram.com\/en_US\/embeds.js\"><\/script><\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"span6 \"><p>It\u2019s that time of year again\u2026.time to reflect on another year gone by and prepare to ring in the New Year.\u00a0 The dawning of a new year brings with it both regrets for the things we did not get done, but also hope and promise to make this year better than the last.\u00a0 If you are one who likes to make a New Year\u2019s resolution or two going into the New Year, then here are the top 5 resolutions we offer for you to consider making as a scuba diver.<\/p>\n<h3>Resolution #5:\u00a0 Get in Better Shape<\/h3>\n<p>Ok, so this is EVERYONE\u2019S New Year\u2019s Resolution, but it has extra significance as a diver.\u00a0 The better physical shape you are in, the more weight you can take off of your weight belt.\u00a0 Also, the better cardiovascular shape you are in, the better your air consumption will be, allowing you to stay underwater longer.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">How to keep it:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Start up a simple exercise program.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t have to be anything fancy, you don\u2019t need to join a gym, and you don\u2019t have to do it every day.\u00a0 Start off with 20-30 minutes of cardio just 3 times a week.\u00a0 Add in a couple of days of sit-ups, push-ups, squats and lunges and you will see improvement in no time!<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div> <!-- .row-fluid (end) -->\n<h3>Resolution #4:\u00a0 Learn Something New<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s nearly impossible to get burnt out on diving, but keep your skills fresh and expand your underwater horizons by learning underwater photography or videography, how to use a dry suit, how to catch lobster or use a spear gun to catch fish for dinner\u2026the possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">How to keep it:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Keeping this resolution is as easy as signing up for a continuing education or specialty diver course at your local dive shop; or, find a friend who already has a passion for what you would like to learn and ask them to teach you.<\/p>\n<h3>Resolution #3:\u00a0 Become a Better Diver<\/h3>\n<p>No matter how long you have been diving or how often you dive, there is always room for improvement.\u00a0 You may wish to improve your buoyancy, increase your global awareness underwater or just feel more comfortable underwater in general.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">How to keep it:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There are two ways to become a better diver so if you commit to either of these, you will accomplish your resolution.\u00a0 The first way is to dive more often with someone who is a more experienced diver than you;
