\"Advanced<\/a>So, you may have just finished your final certification dive in your Open Water Diver course and are beyond excited to be a real, dive-on-your-own scuba diver.\u00a0 OR, maybe you\u2019ve been an Open Water Diver for years.\u00a0 In either case, if we ask you: \u201cAre you ready to sign up to become an Advanced Open Water Diver?\u201d, you may be thinking: \u201cI just became a certified diver, shouldn\u2019t I get some diving experience first?\u201d OR \u201cI\u2019ve been diving as an Open Water Diver for years, why would I need another course?\u201d<\/p>\n

These are both valid answers; however, we have a good list of reasons as to why you should become an Advanced Open Water Diver as soon as possible regardless of your dive experience.<\/p>\n

Reason 1: Gain More Experience<\/h2>\n

You may be thinking, \u201cIsn\u2019t that what I just said? I need to gain more experience before I take another class?\u201d\u00a0 Well\u2026isn\u2019t it even better to gain more diving experience under the supervision of a dive instructor?\u00a0 As a new or long-time diver, diving with a dive instructor is never a bad thing.\u00a0 You will always learn something and improve your diving.<\/p>\n

Reason 2: Try New Things<\/h2>\n

Taking an Advanced Course is like eating off of a sample platter.\u00a0 You\u2019ll get to do five\u00a0fun dives, with minimal pool and homework, that will give you a taste of fun things you can do underwater while diving.\u00a0 Doing navigation and deep dives are required, but then you get to choose 3 other specialties that interest you!\u00a0 Every want to take photos underwater or dive into a wreck? Operate a lift bag?\u00a0 Dive at night?\u00a0 These are just the tip of the iceberg of diving specialties waiting to be explored.<\/p>\n

Reason 3:\u00a0 Kick-Start Your Diving Specialties<\/h2>\n

The great thing about the PADI Educational System is that it\u2019s been designed to maximize your advancement potential.\u00a0 Each of the 5 dives you do during your Advanced Diver Course covers the requirements for the 1st dive in each of those individual specialties.\u00a0 For instance, if you do a night dive, that dive will count toward the first of the 3 required night dives needed to get your Night Diver Specialty Certification.<\/p>\n

As you can see, you don\u2019t have to be an advanced diver to take this course; this course was designed and intended to advance<\/em> your diving.\u00a0 The goal of almost every diver is to feel more comfortable and confident while under water.\u00a0 Taking an Advanced Diver Course is the first step to increasing that comfort level.<\/p>\n
