What better way to wind down after a long day in the office or to wake yourself up in the morning?<\/p>\n<p>If you are landlocked, like thousands of other divers, getting underwater more is as simple as doing a little research and discovering more local places to go diving. \u00a0You may be surprised\u00a0at the possible dive sites hiding just around the corner. \u00a0It could be a reservoir you never thought about diving in, a local quarry, or even river drift diving! \u00a0With more diving options come\u00a0many more dives!<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Become A Better Buddy<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/PADI-Nitrox-Divers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-84\" src=\"https:\/\/underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/PADI-Nitrox-Divers-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"PADI nitrox divers\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Unless you are specifically trained and equipt for solo diving, diving with a buddy is the single most\u00a0important safety\u00a0aspect to any dive.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/underseas.com\/blog\/bad-diver-habits-part-3-being-a-bad-buddy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here are some ways you can be a better buddy in 2017:<\/a><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Use the shoulder-to-shoulder rule. \u00a0You should try to stay shoulder-to-shoulder with your buddy and always within an arm's length of each other.<\/li>\n<li>Know your buddy's gear well. \u00a0Chances are you typically dive with the same friends or family so know what gear they wear well; know where all of their quick releases are, how their\u00a0weighting system works, and where their alternate airsource\u00a0is located.<\/li>\n<li>Perform a buddy check for each and every dive. \u00a0Don't become complacent and think you don't need it. \u00a0Keep each other accountable in doing the buddy check every time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/underseas.com\/blog\/fitness-and-diving\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Get In Better Scuba Shape!<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/scuba-fit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-542\" src=\"https:\/\/underseas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/scuba-fit-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Ya, ya, EVERYONE wants to get into better shape at the beginning of the year, but\u00a0it has extra importance to a diver, since the better shape you are in, the less weight you need to dive and the less air you will consume on your dive. \u00a0Start up a simple exercise program like 20-30 minutes of cardio just 3 times a week. Taking underwater images? Using a GoPro underwater to take video footage?
