Master Diver is the ultimate rating for a recreational diver. If you want to be the best of the best among your diving peers without going pro, become a Master Diver. Not only will you become extremely comfortable and proficient in the water, but you will be among the elite 2% of scuba divers that earn this rating.
Master Diver is a PADI certification that is no easy feat. You will have to become a Rescue Diver, earn 5 Specialty certifications, and have at least 50 logged dives. It may take time and effort but is so worth it, and here are the top five reasons why we think you should become a Master Diver:

Reason 1: Learn New Skills
To become a Master Diver you have to complete 5 different specialty courses which will give you many new skills as a diver such as taking digital underwater photos, learning to spearfish, increasing your ability to identify fish, or learn to night dive. The possibilities are endless!
Reason 2: Become A Safer Diver
It's common knowledge that the more you do something, the better you get at it. This applies to diving too. No matter if you're taking an Advanced Open Water course or Search and Rescue, you're spending time in the water under the supervision of a diving professional, and as you dive more you become more comfortable and confident in the water, therefore, making you a safer diver.
Reason 3: Earn Special Recognition From PADI (and us too!)
This year, PADI is offering special recognition for those divers who complete what they call the Master Scuba Diver Challenge, and so will we! If you complete the challenge by the end of September 2018, you'll be entered for a chance to win a 2-person dive trip to Roatan! On top of that, you will earn a plaque from us with your name on it and a special recognition with your picture posted in our classroom. Plus, you'll be the guest of honor at our December gathering to honor all of our Master Divers.
Reason 4: Learn How To Rescue Someone
Part of the journey to becoming a Master Diver is getting certified as a Rescue Diver. This is probably one of the most valuable courses a diver can take. You will learn how to not only be better able to help yourself in a diving emergency, but you will learn the skills and gain the confidence necessary to rescue someone else. Learning to save a life is an invaluable life skill.
Reason 5: Bragging Rights
If for no other reason, being able to brag to your dive buddies that you are part of the elite, top 2% of recreational divers should be incentive enough to become a Master Diver. Presenting that Master Diver card to dive charters around the world lets them know that you are some of the best of the best in diving, and you have every right to feel that way because you've earned it!
