Give The Gift Of Diving This Christmas

Think back on all of the Christmas gifts you've ever gotten. Was it the "things" that you've received or maybe the experiences that have brought you more joy? Let's face it...material things may make us happy temporarily but it's the things we do with the people we love that can bring true joy to our lives. And if you're reading this blog, we can bet that diving is one of those experiences that brings you that sense of joy. What better way to bring that joy to someone else than to share what you've found in diving with them.

Give a gift that cannot be thrown away

The great thing about experiences are that they are not disposable.  Once you complete the experience you may continue to participate in it or you may never do it again BUT you will carry the memories you made with you forever.  Ask any diver and they can tell you exactly what that first breath underwater was like for them.

Give a gift that can last a lifetime

Diving is one of those amazing activities that can last you a lifetime.  As your body ages you'll find it's harder to do lots of things you were once able to but now cannot.  The great thing about water is that it's the great equalizer.  Once you get yourself into that buoyant blue, your body can still do many of the things it just can't do any long on land.  Giving the gift of scuba really is something that will last a lifetime.

Give the gift of diving

A recent CNBC report showed that up to 72% of millennials now prefer to spend their money on experiences rather than things.  If you have a millennial in your life, what better way to get their nose out of their phone than to take them out to a place where their electronics don't work?!  Diving is the perfect way to spend quality time with those special someones in your life whether they are 15 or 75 years old.  Diving truly spans the age gap.

The gift of diving can be affordable too!

If you don't have the funds to give an entire Open Water class to your friend or loved one this Christmas you still have a couple of options! Consider going in on a joint gift with a few other friends or family members and split the cost.  Don't have anyone interested in going in on the gift with you? How about gifting a Discover Scuba instead?  This will allow your loved one to try out diving and even complete some basic skills that can be credited toward their Open Water certification while making it much more affordable for you.

So, no matter how you do it, give the gift that will keep giving back for years and years to come.  Give the gift of scuba and change someone's world!
